A sore throat, runny nose and fever are all commonly known as symptoms of a flu or common cold. What most people are unaware of is that it’s possible to get sick by sitting at your desk at work. An office desk tends to harbor more bacteria and germs than a toilet! It might be hard to believe until you think about what you do at your desk. Do you eat lunch, or even snacks, while sitting at your desk? Do you, or your co-workers, go to work sick? To help stay healthy when at work there are a few things you can do to help avoid becoming sick. This includes washing your hands, your desk and office space, eat lunch somewhere else, and simply taking the day off when you are sick.
